Investigators claim they found crucial evidence on the phone of a 33-year-old man, arrested in January in Kingsford, Sydney. The phone allegedly contained photos of the timber and cocaine, and police believe the man flew from Ballina to Sydney to collect prohibited drugs.
Upon his arrest, the man was allegedly carrying two kilograms of cocaine and nearly $7,000 in cash. The investigation led police to search his car at Ballina airport, where they claim to have found a duffel bag containing the man's phone, over 700 grams of cocaine, and almost $400,000 in cash.

The wooden planks, allegedly impregnated with cocaine, were stored in sheds in Lismore and the Gold Coast. On January 22, police seized six tonnes of this timber during a raid. Simultaneously, they searched a property in Molendinar, Gold Coast, and allegedly discovered more planks inside a clandestine extraction lab.

Four men, aged 42 to 55, were arrested by Queensland Police and charged with producing dangerous drugs and possessing a cocaine press. The latest arrest took place yesterday, with a 33-year-old man apprehended at Ocean Shores, NSW, and charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of drugs and directing a criminal group.
